History

- In 1987 Tecnolinea, the ancestor of Provel, then operating as industrial agent and consultant in the area of polyurethane production, decided to start domestic sales of the "Metal Spray" technology and to install a demo plant of it at Pinerolo (Rapid Soft Tooling). This system in short  time and low cost produces foundry models, polyurethane moulds and injection moulds for thermoplastic prototype production.

In 1990 Tecnolinea started domestic sales of "Vacuum-Casting" systems, a japanese technology based on the production of prototype parts using silicone moulds. The Rapid Prototyping era was then beginning in Italy. This new prototyping system had a large success and a rapid  growth together with the new stereolithography and laser sintering technologies.

In 1994 the rapid prototyping parts demand was so large that Tecnolinea decided to found Provel and to produce service for Rapid Prototyping and Tooling, investing in a vacuum casting system, in a R.I.M. machine and in a first stereolithography system.

- In 1996 the parts demand increased dramatically then Provel boughts a second, larger stereolithography system(MAX 600), a second vacuum casting system and a prototypes dimensional  certification system.

In 1998 Provel invested in another larger "twin-chamber" vacuum casting unit, able to handle till 2mx1mx1m silicone moulds and in a laser sintering  system closely followed  by a second one.

In 2001 Provel starts the Rapid Tooling activity by incorporating a small company specialised in this sector and by acquiring two new C.N. milling machines. Furthermore Provel became official supplier of FIAT Auto for prototypes and rapid moulds.  The new Provel building was constructed in the same year.

In 2003 Provel moved to the new site located in the new industrial area of Pinerolo. The move was followed by the acquisition of a third, more advanced Stereolithography system(SLA 5000) a third laser sintering machine and a third C.N. milling machine. Provel, in the same year, incorporated the firm “Fox Bit Tecnologie” specialised in Rapid Prototyping and Tooling.

The year 2004 sees the start of production for special stereolithography parts with ceramic filler (Kervel) that are particularly suitable for manufacturing wind tunnel test models. This allows the company to supply the major national wind tunnels, including those of Ferrari and Aermacchi. By purchasing a fourth Stereolithography system and another C.N. milling machine Provel consolidated its position as one of most competitive suppliers in the sector with the longest tradition and the largest number of prototyping systems available, in Italy and Europe.

- In 2006, the acquisition of the fifth stereolithogfaphy machine, allows Provel to have 6 different  stereolithography resins on 8 different, interchanging vats to produce it's stereolithography prototypes and models.

- In 2007 Provel purchases the fifth CN milling machine, a new EDM system and the sixth stereolithography machine. The  stereolithography resins available at Provel now are 10 on 10 different, interchanging vats, giving to our customers the widest range of stereolithography prototypes and models on the European market.
